Derek Janszen, PhD, Sr. Biostatistical Scientist, Wyeth Research

Derek Janszen received a doctorate in statistics from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1992. He spent 9 years at the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology, Research Triangle Park, NC, where he provided statistical support to the scientific staff and started getting involved in the fledgling field of toxicogenomics. At Wyeth in Collegeville, PA, he has provided support to the Discovery biologists as a preclinical statistician, and has continued his involvement in the genomics field by developing methods to analyze microaray data from clinical trials. He was the statistician on the first Voluntary Genomic Data Submission (VGDS) document submitted to the FDA.
