Rolf Jautelat, Schering AG
Rolf Jautelat received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Dortmund in 1992 and his Ph.D. in Synthetic Chemistry from the University of Hannover under the supervision of Professor Winterfeldt in 1997. He then conducted postdoctoral studies on the total synthesis of natural products with the group of Professor Nicolaou at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla. In 1999 he joined Schering AG, Berlin, as a Medicinal Chemist. Since then he has been active in two main fields: In oncology research he was heavily involved with the CDK project which yielded a development compound that is currently undergoing clinical trials. Secondly, in chemistry informatics he has been responsible as the business leader for the design, implementation and recent global roll-out of ECIMS (Enhanced Chemistry Information Management System) to the Schering research and development organization. In addition, he was responsible for the design and implementation of an in-house built "warehouse type" kinase inhibitor database for Schering AG. Rolf Jautelat is author or co-author of 11 publications and 13 patent applications.
