| Jeff Spitzner, Chief Scientific Officer, Rescentris |
|
Jeff Spitzner, Ph.D. is founder and Chief Science Officer of Rescentris. Previously, Dr. Spitzner had similar roles at LabBook, Inc., and with other informatics and biotechnology organizations. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, then conducted postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1997 Dr. Spitzner received an NIH grant to develop standards for integrating and visualizing genome research data. The result was the development of BSML as the pioneering XML technology in the life sciences, and now a widely adopted XML data standard in the industry. Jeff Spitzner is recognized as a leader in areas of bioinformatics and electronic laboratory notebook systems. Dr. Spitzner leads Rescentris' development of its Collaborative Electronic Research Framework (CERF) to integrate electronic lab notebooks, bioinformatics, and knowledge management using research ontologies and semantic data models to enhance productivity and collaboration.
