Jim McKiernan is an engineer who spent eight years in manufacturing and supply chain in various management roles before moving into consultancy. In his sixteen years in consulting he worked for Coopers & Lybrand (later PwC) and then IBM Business Consulting Services before establishing his own consulting business in January 2004.
Jim's main focus is in helping life science companies improve manufacturing and supply chain operations both from a strategic and operational perspective. He was a pioneer in addressing the critical interface between R&D and technical operations - an area which is of increasingly strategic importance as clinical development times are compressed. Technical operations must now proactively manage a portfolio of technologies which is becoming increasingly complex and support on-time product launches, as well as meeting the tightening regulatory requirements.
He has consulted to many leading pharmaceutical companies on effective ways to improve clinical and commercial supply chain management and manufacturing operations.
Jim is a recognised speaker at international congresses and meetings on topics spanning the entire spectrum of life science supply chain management.
