Optimizing Knowledge Management in pharma R&D

Having experienced both a data explosion and a drop in productivity, it's not surprising that the pharmaceutical industry is turning in growing numbers to knowledge management (KM), a field devoted to the optimization of information capture and dissemination to promote decision making. This talk will focus on knowledge management strategies and technologies applicable to early stage biopharmaceutical research and development (R&D). We will take a pragmatic approach and try to dispel some of the myths around knowledge management. We will present analytical frameworks for developing a knowledge management strategy and for selecting the proper software to implement this strategy. These frameworks will help both those who are just getting started and those who scaling up their efforts to understand which software is applicable to their organization's needs.
