Dr.
Hardy obtained his Ph.D. in 1990 from Syracuse University
initially working in the area of computational chemistry,
biophysics and computer-aided molecular modelling and design.
Dr. Hardy has been working in the area of electronic communities
and conferencing since 1994. He has organised close to 50
international virtual conferences in the area of the chemical,
life and medical sciences. He has also developed technology
solutions for internet-based conferencing, tutor-supported
e-learning, laboratory automation systems and computational
chemistry and informatics. Dr. Hardy was a National Research Fellow at the FDA Center for Biologics and Evaluation, a Hitchings-Elion
Fellow at Oxford University and CEO of Virtual Environments
International.
He recently chaired the EU-supported Eurotron Virtual Conferences in Glycobiology, and is currently managing the Knowledge Management in Pharma
& Life Sciences Hub. He lives in Switzerland where he works with Douglas Connect in the provision of virtual conferencing, community and knowledge management solutions for the life science, pharma and healthcare sectors. He also works closely with Colayer, a Swiss company dedicated to the development of knowledge-sharing collaborative software and social software.
