Jeff Spitzner, Ph.D. is
founder and Chief Science Officer of Rescentris. Previously,
Dr. Spitzner had similar roles at LabBook, Inc., and
with other informatics and biotechnology organizations.
He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, then conducted
postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology. In 1997 Dr. Spitzner received an NIH
grant to develop standards for integrating and visualizing
genome research data. The result was the development
of BSML as the pioneering XML technology in the life
sciences, and now a widely adopted XML data standard
in the industry. Jeff Spitzner is recognized as a leader
in areas of bioinformatics and electronic laboratory
notebook systems. Dr. Spitzner leads Rescentris’
development of its Collaborative Electronic Research
Framework (CERF) to integrate electronic lab notebooks,
bioinformatics, and knowledge management using research
ontologies and semantic data models to enhance productivity
and collaboration. |
